How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Dockside Extortionist, adding CC.
2. When Dockside Extortionist dies, its undying ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it.
3. When Dockside Extortionist enters the battlefield, it triggers, creating at least three Treasure artifact tokens.
4. Activate three Treasures by tapping and sacrificing them, adding 2.
5. Activate Resourceful Defense by paying 4, moving all +1/+1 counters from Dockside Extortionist onto another permanent you control.
6. Repeat.
7. If opponents control four or more artifacts and/or enchantments, this combo nets infinite Treasure tokens and colored mana.

This clever loop turns Mikaeus, the Unhallowed into an engine of endless rebirth, granting undying to your non-Human creatures so they can return to the battlefield stronger than before. When you sacrifice Dockside Extortionist to Ashnod's Altar, it enters the graveyard and triggers Mikaeus to bring it right back with a +1/+1 counter, while the Altar feeds you colorless mana. To keep the cycle going without those counters permanently shutting down its undying, Resourceful Defense steps in to strip the +1/+1 counters away (or simply lets you tidy them up), ensuring Dockside Extortionist can keep dying endlessly. Backed by enough opponent artifacts and enchantments, each iteration yields plenty of Treasure tokens to fuel your spells and keep the alchemy flowing.
