How it works

1. Activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing Dockside Extortionist.
2. When Dockside Extortionist dies, its undying ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it.
3. When Dockside Extortionist enters the battlefield, it triggers, creating at least five Treasure artifact tokens.
4. Resolve the Altar of Dementia ability from step 1, causing target player to mill cards equal to Dockside Extortionist's power.
5. Activate five Treasures by tapping and sacrificing them, adding 4.
6. Activate Resourceful Defense by paying 4, moving all +1/+1 counters from Dockside Extortionist onto another permanent you control.
7. Repeat.
8. If opponents control six or more artifacts and/or enchantments, this combo nets infinite Treasure tokens and colored mana.

This loop turns a simple goblin into an endless manufacturing plant, provided your opponents have brought enough toys to the table for Dockside Extortionist to exploit. Each time it enters the battlefield, the Extortionist funds the machinery by spitting out a horde of Treasures, while Mikaeus, the Unhallowed stands watch to grant the crucial undying ability that brings it right back from the dead after Altar of Dementia sends it to the graveyard. The real brilliance of the engine lies in Resourceful Defense, whose passive trigger catches the +1/+1 counter left behind by undying and sweeps it away to safety—ensuring the Extortionist never accumulates counters that would prevent its perpetual resurrection. With the counter cleared away, Altar of Dementia can sacrifice the creature over and over to mill the table out entirely, fueled endlessly by the mana those sacrificial Treasures leave behind.
