How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Gruff Triplets, adding CC.
2. When Gruff Triplets dies, its second ability and Nim Deathmantle trigger.
3. Resolve the Gruff Triplets triggers, putting a number of +1/+1 counters on each other creature you control named Gruff Triplets equal to the sacrificed Gruff Triplets' power.
4. Resolve the Nim Deathmantle trigger, causing you to pay 4 to return Gruff Triplets from your graveyard to the battlefield, and attach Nim Deathmantle to it.
5. When Gruff Triplets enters the battlefield, it triggers, creating two token copies of itself.
6. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing a Gruff Triplets token, adding CC.
7. Repeat.

This loop transforms a single massive threat into an exponential engine using Ashnod's Altar as the sacrificial altar that fuels Nim Deathmantle's resurrection ability. Whenever you feed a creature to the Altar, the combination of death triggers and token generation ensures that Gruff Triplets constantly replenishes your board with fresh copies. Meanwhile, the Triplets' own death trigger pumps your surviving copies with an avalanche of +1/+1 counters, creating a towering army alongside infinite mana and death triggers.
