How it works

  1. Cast Capture of Jingzhou by paying 3U manaU mana, causing you to take an extra turn after this one.
  2. Move to your next turn.
  3. Cast Chthonian Nightmare by paying 1B mana.
  4. When Chthonian Nightmare enters the battlefield, it triggers, causing you to get EEE.
  5. Activate Chthonian Nightmare by paying EEEEE, sacrificing a creature with mana value 1 or less, and returning Chthonian Nightmare from the battlefield to your hand, returning Warden of the Eye from your graveyard to the battlefield.
  6. When Warden of the Eye enters the battlefield, it triggers, returning Capture of Jingzhou from your graveyard to your hand.
  7. Cast Chthonian Nightmare by paying 1B mana.
  8. When Chthonian Nightmare enters the battlefield, it triggers, causing you to get EEE.
  9. Activate Chthonian Nightmare by paying at most E, sacrificing Warden of the Eye, and returning Chthonian Nightmare from the battlefield to your hand, returning a creature with mana value 1 or less from your graveyard to the battlefield.
  10. Repeat.

This brilliant loop lets you chain infinite turns by recycling a single extra-turn spell and an engine piece over and over. You begin by casting Capture of Jingzhou to secure your next turn, leaving it in the graveyard alongside Warden of the Eye. By repeatedly casting Chthonian Nightmare, its entry trigger fuels your energy reserves, allowing you to sacrifice and return Warden of the Eye to your hand. Each recursion of Warden of the Eye fishes Capture of Jingzhou right back out of the graveyard to be cast again, trapping your opponents in an endless succession of your turns.
