How it works

1. Activate Shilgengar by sacrificing Golgari Thug.
2. When Golgari Thug dies, it and Dross Harvester trigger.
3. Resolve the Golgari Thug trigger, putting it from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
4. Resolve the Dross Harvester trigger, causing you to gain 2 life.
5. Resolve the Shilgengar ability.
6. Cast Golgari Thug from the top of your library by paying 2 life.
7. Repeat.

This elegant loop uses Shilgengar, Sire of Famine to sacrifice Golgari Thug, turning the creature into Blood tokens while instantly triggering its ability to place itself right back on top of your library. Bolas's Citadel allows you to bypass traditional mana costs by casting that very same Golgari Thug straight from the top of your library, paying life instead—a cost effortlessly offset by the life gain from Dross Harvester whenever a creature dies. Because Shilgengar's sacrifice triggers the Harvester and feeds the cycle infinitely, you generate an endless stream of death triggers, blood, and storm count without ever running out of resources.
