How it works

1. Activate Magmaw by paying 1 and sacrificing another nonland permanent, dealing 1 damage to an opponent.
2. Malcolm triggers, creating a 1/1 Squirrel creature token and a Treasure token.
3. Activate a Treasure by tapping and sacrificing it, adding 1.
4. Repeat.

This clever engine turns a simple loop into absolute devastation by using Maskwood Nexus to make every creature you control a Pirate alongside all of their other types. With that foundational type-matching in place, every time Magmaw hurls damage at an opponent, Malcolm, Keen-Eyed Navigator triggers to manufacture a Treasure token. Thanks to Chatterfang, Squirrel General's replacement effect, that single Treasure creation doubles into an accompanying army of Squirrel tokens as well. You then sacrifice one of those newly minted treasures for mana to pay Magmaw's activation cost, feeding the cycle infinitely to burn down the entire table with a relentless storm of damage and sacrifices.
