How it works

1. Activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing any other creature.
2. When the creature dies as a Human due to Maskwood Nexus, Xathrid Necromancer triggers, creating a 2/2 Zombie creature token.
3. Resolve the Altar of Dementia ability.
4. Repeat.

This crafty loop turns your entire battlefield into a mill machine by leveraging the blanket type-granting power of Maskwood Nexus. Because Maskwood Nexus makes every creature you control every type, any sacrificed creature counts as a Human for Xathrid Necromancer, instantly triggering the creation of a replacement Zombie token whenever it dies. You then feed that newly spawned Zombie straight back into Altar of Dementia to mill your opponent, letting Xathrid Necromancer trigger all over again to sustain the endless cycle.
