How it works

1. Activate Aerie Ouphes by sacrifcing it, targeting any creature with flying.
2. When Aerie Ouphes dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it to the battlefield from your graveyard with no -1/-1 counter on it due to Bramblewood Paragon and Maskwood Nexus.
3. Repeat.
4. Resolve all Aerie Ouphes abilities, destroying the targetted creature(s).

This loop turns Aerie Ouphes into a repeatable removal engine fueled by a clever intersection of creature types and counter mechanics. Thanks to Maskwood Nexus, Aerie Ouphes is recognized as a Warrior, which allows Bramblewood Paragon's static ability to grant it an additional +1/+1 counter whenever it enters the battlefield. This incoming +1/+1 counter immediately cancels out the -1/-1 counter that would otherwise be placed by the creature's persist ability, resetting its state so it can be sacrificed to its own ability over and over again.
