How it works

1. Cause an artifact to enter the battlefield under your control.
2. HYDRA Assault Robot triggers, dealing 1 damage to target opponent.
3. Malcolm triggers, as HYDRA Assault Robot is a Pirate due to Maskwood Nexus, creating a Treasure token
4. When the Treasure enters, HYDRA Assault Robot triggers, dealing 1 damage to target opponent.
5. Repeat from step 3.

This clever loop turns simple artifact arrivals into a relentless storm of damage and treasure, legal across formats like Commander and Legacy. Maskwood Nexus does the heavy lifting behind the scenes by bestowing every creature type—including Pirate—upon all your creatures and tokens. Because of this blanket type-change, the Treasure tokens generated by Malcolm, Keen-Eyed Navigator also count as Pirates, ensuring that every piece of the puzzle locks together. As HYDRA Assault Robot reacts to each new artifact entering the battlefield, it deals damage to your opponents, which in turn triggers Malcolm to spawn another Treasure, feeding the loop back into itself indefinitely.
