How it works

  1. Declare Alesha as an attacker.
  2. Alesha triggers, causing you to pay U/BU/B to return Sakashima the Impostor from your graveyard to the battlefield tapped and attacking as a legendary copy of Medomai the Ageless whose name is still Sakashima the Impostor.
  3. Deal combat damage using Sakashima the Impostor.
  4. Sakashima the Impostor triggers, causing you to take an extra turn after this one.
  5. Activate Phantom Train by sacrificing Sakashima the Impostor
  6. Repeat each turn.

This clever loop harnesses Alesha, Who Smiles at Death to repeatedly resurrect Sakashima the Impostor from the graveyard as a fresh copy of Medomai the Ageless, deftly bypassing Medomai's usual restriction against attacking during extra turns since the copy enters the battlefield brand new each time. Because Medomai grants an extra turn whenever it deals combat damage, you are guaranteed endless successive turns as long as the cycle continues. To prevent the legend rule or Medomai's own text from locking you out of the attack, Phantom Train steps in as a clever sacrifice outlet, neatly sweeping the copy away into the graveyard before your next combat phase begins so Alesha can bring it right back to repeat the process.
