How it works

1. During your upkeep step, activate Mairsil using Hakim's first ability by paying , returning Unhallowed Pact from your graveyard to the battlefield attached to Mairsil.
2. Activate Mairsil using Lion's Eye Diamond's ability by sacrificing it and discarding your hand, adding .
3. When Mairisil dies, Unhallowed Pact triggers, returning Mairisil from your graveyard to the battlefield.
4. Repeat.

This ingenious loop turns Mairsil, the Pretender into a self-sustaining engine by feeding on the cased abilities of Hakim, Loreweaver and Lion's Eye Diamond. Once Mairsil has exiled both artifacts and creatures with cage counters, Hakim's ability allows you to repeatedly recur Unhallowed Pact from your graveyard straight onto Mairsil during your upkeep. By sacrificing Lion's Eye Diamond for mana and letting Mairsil die with Unhallowed Pact attached, Unhallowed Pact triggers to bring Mairsil right back to the battlefield, ready to cage and repeat the entire sequence for infinite colored mana and death triggers.
