How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Archaeomancer, adding CC.
2. When Archaeomancer dies, Mortuary triggers, putting Archaeomancer on top of your library from your graveyard.
3. Cast Hit the Mother Lode by paying 4, exiling Archaeomancer from the top of your library and casting it without paying its mana cost, and creating six tapped Treasure artifact tokens.
4. When Archaeomancer and the Treasures enter the battlefield, Amulet of Vigor triggers six times and Archaeomancer triggers once.
5. Resolve all Amulet of Vigor triggers, untapping the Treasures.
6. Resolve the Archaeomancer trigger, returning Hit the Mother Lode from your graveyard to your hand.
7. Activate five Treasures by tapping and sacrificing them, adding 2.
8. Repeat.

This engine transforms Ashnod's Altar and Mortuary into a closed loop by turning Hit the Mother Lode into a free, library-to-battlefield cascade thanks to its Discover mechanic. When you cast Hit the Mother Lode, it plays out Archaeomancer directly from the top of your library without paying its mana cost, triggering Archaeomancer to pull the sorcery right back out of your graveyard while also flooding the board with six tapped Treasures. Thankfully, Amulet of Vigor steps in to immediately untap those Treasures as they arrive, providing the exact mana and fodder needed to sacrifice Archaeomancer back to Ashnod's Altar—which in turn trips Mortuary to seamlessly restack the wizard on top of your library, ready to be discovered all over again.
