How it works

1. Activate any number of lands by tapping them, adding at least 3.
2. Activate Trenching Steed by sacrificing a land.
3. Repeat step 2 until you control no lands.
4. Activate Aftermath Analyst by paying 3 and sacrificing it, returning all lands from your graveyard to the battlefield tapped.
5. When the lands enter, Emeria Shepherd and Amulet of Vigor trigger that many times.
6. Resolve all Amulet of Vigor triggers, untapping each land that entered.
7. Resolve an Emeria Shepherd trigger that was triggered by a Plains, returning Aftermath Analyst from your graveyard to the battlefield.
8. Resolve all other Emeria Shepherd triggers, returning any number of nonland permanents from your graveyard to either your hand or the battlefield.
9. Repeat.

This clever recursion loop relies on Trenching Steed to systematically dump your lands into the graveyard while fueling the mana needed to cast or recur your key pieces. Once your lands are binned, Aftermath Analyst sacrifices itself to bring them all back at once, triggering a massive wave of landfall and entry effects. Amulet of Vigor ensures those returning lands enter untapped to immediately repay your mana investment, while Emeria Shepherd leverages that influx of Plains to effortlessly pluck Aftermath Analyst and the rest of your nonland permanents right back out of the graveyard.
