How it works

1. Activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing Eternal Witness.
2. When Eternal Witness dies, Mortuary triggers, putting Eternal Witness on top of your library from your graveyard.
3. Resolve the Altar of Dementia ability, causing target player to mill cards equal to Eternal Witness's power.
4. Cast Hit the Mother Lode by paying 4, exiling Eternal Witness from the top of your library and casting it without paying its mana cost, and creating seven tapped Treasure artifact tokens.
5. When Eternal Witness and the Treasures enter the battlefield, Amulet of Vigor triggers seven times and Eternal Witness triggers once.
6. Resolve all Amulet of Vigor triggers, untapping the Treasures.
7. Resolve the Eternal Witness trigger, returning Hit the Mother Lode from your graveyard to your hand.
8. Activate seven Treasures by tapping and sacrificing them, adding 4.
9. Repeat.

This loop is a masterclass in recycling, turning the high mana value of Hit the Mother Lode into an endless engine of discovery and sacrifice. With Mortuary standing guard to funnel your creatures straight back to the top of your library upon death, you can feed Eternal Witness to Altar of Dementia to mill your opponents while keeping your deck properly stacked. When you cast Hit the Mother Lode, its massive mana value guarantees you'll hit Eternal Witness off the discover trigger for free, while also showering you with seven Treasure tokens. Those Treasures would normally enter tapped, but Amulet of Vigor swoops in to instantly untap them, providing the exact mana needed to cast Hit the Mother Lode all over again. Meanwhile, Eternal Witness's entry trigger conveniently loops Hit the Mother Lode right back to your hand, allowing you to repeat the cycle indefinitely until everyone else has been milled out.
