How it works

  1. Cast Sandbar Merfolk either from your hand or from your graveyard by paying U mana, causing it to enter the battlefield as a copy of Treva's Attendant due to Infinite Reflection.
  2. Activate Sandbar Merfolk by paying 1 and sacrificing it, adding G manaW manaU mana.
  3. If you cast Sandbar Merfolk from your graveyard, Sandbar Merfolk is not exiled by Abandoned Sarcophagus due to Infinite Reflection removing Sandbar Merfolk's cycling ability.
  4. Repeat.

This clever loop turns a modest merfolk into a relentless mana engine by layering clever copy effects with graveyard recursion. With Infinite Reflection transforming all your nontoken creatures into copies of Treva's Attendant, Sandbar Merfolk loses its original text—including its innate cycling ability—the moment it hits the battlefield. Because it no longer has a cycling ability, the second replacement effect of Abandoned Sarcophagus fails to exile it when it dies, allowing the first ability of Abandoned Sarcophagus to repeatedly fish Sandbar Merfolk straight back out of the graveyard for just {U}. You can then sacrifice your newly cast Sandbar Merfolk (acting as a Treva's Attendant) to its own activated ability to net a profit of green and white mana every single iteration, fueling endless sacrifice triggers, storm count, and green and white mana.
