How it works
- Cause Vhal to become an artifact using Liquimetal Coating.
- Activate Vhal by tapping it, adding at least CCC.
- Activate Voltaic Construct by paying 2, untapping Vhal.
- Repeat from step 2.
This clever loop turns your commander into a self-sustaining mana turbine by weaving together type-shifting and untap mechanics. First, Liquimetal Coating turns Vhal, Candlekeep Researcher into an artifact, making her a valid target for Voltaic Construct. Once she's an artifact creature with a toughness high enough to yield a profit, you tap Vhal for a surge of colorless mana, use two of that mana to activate Voltaic Construct and untap her, and repeat the process to generate infinite colorless mana that bypasses hand-casting restrictions.
