How it works

1. Donate Demonic Pact to an opponent.
2. At the beginning of the opponent's upkeep, Demonic Pact triggers, causing them to select the fourth mode and lose the game.

This clever exchange turns a ticking time bomb into an instant-win condition for you. While Demonic Pact normally forces you to eventually choose its disastrous final mode and lose the game, the Adventure half of Bilbo, Luckwearer // Burglar's Plot—Burglar's Plot—lets you swap control of two nonland permanents sharing a card type, gifting the enchantment to an unsuspecting opponent. Because Demonic Pact’s modes are cumulative and cumulative choices follow the permanent, that opponent will be forced to pick the fourth and final mode on their very next upkeep, sealing their doom.
