How it works

1. Cast Vishgraz either from your hand or from the command zone by paying 2 plus commander tax, if applicable.
2. When Vishgraz enters the battlefield, it triggers twice, creating six 1/1 Phyrexian Mite artifact creature tokens.
3. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing Vishgraz, adding .
4. When Vishgraz dies, Enduring Renewal triggers, returning Vishgraz from your graveyard to your hand.
5. Activate Phyrexian Altar four times by sacrificing four Phyrexian Mites, adding 2.
6. Repeat.

This ingenious loop uses Enduring Renewal as a recursive engine, allowing you to sacrifice Vishgraz, the Doomhive to Phyrexian Altar over and over because the enchantment instantly bounces the Commander right back to your hand upon death. Meanwhile, Elesh Norn, Mother of Machines doubles Vishgraz's entrance trigger, flooding the board with Phyrexian Mite tokens that can be sacrificed to the Altar for the mana needed to keep recasting your Commander indefinitely.
