How it works

1. Move to your cleanup step.
2. Discard down to your maximum hand size, ensuring to discard Blazing Rootwalla.
3. Blazing Rootwalla is discarded into exile, triggering its madness ability, causing you to pay 0 to cast it from exile.
4. Activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing Blazing Rootwalla.
5. When Blazing Rootwalla dies, Enduring Renewal triggers, returning Blazing Rootwalla from your graveyard to your hand.
6. Resolve the Altar of Dementia ability, causing target player to mill cards equal to Blazing Rootwalla's power.
7. Once the stack is empty and all players pass priority, another cleanup step occurs.
8. Repeat from step 2.

This cunning cleanup-step loop lets you repeatedly grind through your entire library by weaponizing the rules of discarding down to hand size. When you pitch Blazing Rootwalla during your cleanup step, its madness ability allows you to cast it for zero mana, immediately feeding it to Altar of Dementia to mill an opponent. The moment the lizard hits the graveyard, Enduring Renewal's static triggered ability steps in to save it, bouncing the creature straight back to your hand. Because discarding during the cleanup step triggers another cleanup step if anything happens on the stack, the game allows you to repeat this exact discard cycle infinitely until your target player is completely milled out.
