How it works

1. Activate Shilgengar by sacrificing Greedy Freebooter.
2. When Greedy Freebooter dies, it and Enduring Renewal trigger.
3. Resolve the Greedy Freebooter trigger, causing you to scry 1 and create a Treasure token.
4. Resolve the Enduring Renewal trigger, returning Greedy Freebooter from your graveyard to your hand.
5. Resolve the Shilgengar ability.
6. Activate the Treasure by tapping and sacrificing it, adding .
7. Cast Greedy Freebooter by paying .
8. Repeat.

This loop turns Shilgengar, Sire of Famine into an engine for infinite resources by feeding Greedy Freebooter to its sacrifice ability. Whenever the Freebooter hits the graveyard, Enduring Renewal swoops in to rescue it straight back to your hand rather than letting it stay dead, bypassing any need for complex recursion. The Treasure token generated by the Freebooter on its way out then provides the exact black mana needed to recast it, while Shilgengar conveniently stockpiles Blood tokens along the way.
