How it works

  1. Cast Dockside Extortionist by paying 1R mana.
  2. When Dockside Extortionist enters the battlefield, it triggers, creating at least two Treasure artifact tokens.
  3. Activate two Treasures by tapping and sacrificing them, adding 1R mana.
  4. Activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing Dockside Extortionist.
  5. When Dockside Extortionist dies, Enduring Renewal triggers, returning Dockside Extortionist to your hand from your graveyard.
  6. Resolve the Altar of Dementia ability, causing target player to mill cards equal to Dockside Extortionist's power.
  7. Repeat.
  8. If opponents control three or more artifacts and/or enchantments, this combo nets infinite Treasure tokens and colored mana.

This elegant loop transforms Dockside Extortionist into a self-sustaining engine by leveraging the replacement effect of Enduring Renewal, which gracefully bypasses normal death by immediately returning the goblin to your hand whenever it hits the graveyard. Altar of Dementia provides the sacrifice outlet needed to trigger this recovery while simultaneously milling your opponents out of the game. Meanwhile, the Treasure tokens generated by Dockside Extortionist pay for its own repeated casting costs, fueling an unstoppable chain of artifact and creature triggers as long as your opponents control enough artifacts and enchantments.
