How it works

1. Activate Blood Vassal by sacrificing it, adding .
2. When Blood Vassal dies, Enduring Renewal triggers, returning Blood Vassal from your graveyard to your hand.
3. Cast Blood Vassal by paying .
4. Repeat.

This clever loop relies on Enduring Renewal's replacement effect to bypass the usual permanence of the graveyard, automatically recycling any creature that dies straight back to your hand. Normally, recasting that creature would be cost-prohibitive, but Planar Gate steps in to slash the casting cost of your creature spells by two generic mana. With that heavy discount in place, the black mana generated by sacrificing Blood Vassal is more than enough to continually replay it, fueling an infinite engine of sacrifices, storm count, and black mana.
