How it works

1. Activate Woe Strider by sacrificing Greedy Freebooter.
2. When Greedy Freebooter dies, it and Enduring Renewal trigger.
3. Resolve the Greedy Freebooter trigger, causing you to scry 1 and create a Treasure token.
4. Resolve the Enduring Renewal trigger, returning Greedy Freebooter from your graveyard to your hand.
5. Resolve the Woe Strider ability, causing you to scry 1.
6. Activate the Treasure by tapping and sacrificing it, adding .
7. Cast Greedy Freebooter by paying .
8. Repeat.

This clever loop turns Woe Strider into an engine of endless sacrifices, fueled entirely by the constant recycling of Greedy Freebooter. Each time you feed the Freebooter to Woe Strider's sacrifice ability, Enduring Renewal swoops in with its passive trigger to bounce the tiny pirate straight back to your hand instead of leaving it in the grave. Because Greedy Freebooter creates a Treasure token upon death, sacrificing it also provides the exact mana needed to recast it, while the token's mana generation seamlessly funds the loop with every iteration.
