How it works

1. Activate Phantom Train by sacrificing the persist creature.
2. When the persist creature dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to Bioengineered Future
3. Resolve the Phantom Train ability.
4. Repeat

This clever loop turns your graveyard into an engine by letting Phantom Train continually sacrifice your persist creature, which is then fueled by its own built-in sacrifice outlet. Every time that creature slips away, Bioengineered Future steps in with its passive replacement effect, ensuring the creature re-enters with an extra +1/+1 counter that cancels out the dreaded -1/-1 counter from persist. Meanwhile, the Lander token generated when Bioengineered Future first entered quietly sets the stage, ensuring your board is primed for the chaos to unfold.
