How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Butcher Ghoul, adding CC.
2. When Butcher Ghoul dies, its undying ability and Necrosynthesis trigger.
3. Resolve the Butcher Ghoul trigger, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter and a vigilance counter on it.
4. Resolve the Necrosynthesis trigger, putting a +1/+1 counter on Tayam.
5. Activate Tayam by paying 3, removing a +1/+1 counter from Tayam, and both counters from Butcher Ghoul.
6. Holding priority, activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Butcher Ghoul, adding CC.
7. Repeat steps 2-4 one additional time.
8. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Butcher Ghoul, adding CC.
9. Resolve Tayam's ability from step 5, causing you to mill three cards and returning Butcher Ghoul from your graveyard to the battlefield.
10. Repeat.

This intricate loop lets you continuously cycle Butcher Ghoul through the graveyard using Ashnod's Altar to fuel Tayam, Luminous Enigma's ability, all while enchanting Tayam with Necrosynthesis to continuously scale its power with counters. As Butcher Ghoul repeatedly dies and triggers its undying ability alongside Necrosynthesis, Tayam gathers the necessary counters to churn through your library, mill your deck, and bring back cheap permanents at will. Ashnod's Altar provides the crucial colorless mana to keep the activation costs covered, turning a simple sacrifice into an engine that recycles your entire graveyard.
