How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Wingrattle Scarecrow, adding CC.
2. When Wingrattle Scarecrow dies, its persist ability and Sengir's first ability trigger.
3. Resolve the Wingrattle Scarecrow trigger, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter and a vigilance counter on it.
4. Resolve the Sengir trigger, putting two +1/+1 counters on Sengir.
5. Activate Tayam by paying 3, removing a +1/+1 counter from Sengir, and both counters from Wingrattle Scarecrow.
6. Holding priority, activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Wingrattle Scarecrow, adding CC.
7. Repeat steps 2-4 one additional time.
8. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Wingrattle Scarecrow, adding CC.
9. Resolve Tayam's ability from step 5, causing you to mill three cards and returning Wingrattle Scarecrow from your graveyard to the battlefield.
10. Repeat.

This clever loop centers around Wingrattle Scarecrow, whose persist ability normally lets it return from the dead just once, but is constantly reset by Tayam, Luminous Enigma stripping away its -1/-1 counters alongside any incoming vigilance counters. Ashnod's Altar acts as our engine of sacrifice, turning each recursion into a steady stream of colorless mana while fueling Sengir, the Dark Baron with a growing mountain of +1/+1 counters. Because Tayam's ability can be fueled by these very counters and lets us recur permanent cards of mana value 3 or less, the loop not only sustains itself indefinitely but also digs through our entire library by repeatedly milling cards along the way.
