How it works

  1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing any other creature, adding CC.
  2. Promise of Bunrei triggers, causing you to sacrifice it and create four 1/1 Spirit creature tokens that enter the battlefield with vigilance counters on them.
  3. Activate Tayam by paying 3 and removing three vigilance counters from the Spirits, causing yourself to mill three cards and return Promise of Bunrei from your graveyard to the battlefield.
  4. Activate Ashnod's Altar twice by sacrificing two Spirits, adding CCCC.
  5. Repeat from step 2.
