How it works

1. Cast Channeler Initiate by paying 1.
2. Channeler Initiate enters the battlefield with a vigilance counter, putting three -1/-1 counters on itself.
3. Equip Lightning Grieves to Channeler Initiate by paying 0.
4. Activate Channeler Initiate by tapping and removing a -1/-1 counter from it, adding one mana of any color.
5. Activate Tayam by paying 3 and removing all counters from Channeler Initiate.
6. Holding priority, activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Channeler Initiate, adding CC.
7. Resolve the Tayam ability, milling three cards and returning Channeler Initiate from your graveyard to the battlefield.
8. Repeat from step 2.

This brilliant loop turns Channeler Initiate into an endlessly recurring engine by leveraging Tayam, Luminous Enigma's unique ability to cheat permanent cards with a mana value of 3 or less straight out of the graveyard. When Channeler Initiate enters the battlefield, Tayam's passive vigilance counter ensures there are enough total counters present for Tayam's activation cost, while Channeler Initiate's own trigger places three -1/-1 counters on it. You can tap it for mana, spend that mana along with the colorless mana generated by sacrificing it to Ashnod's Altar, and clear its counters to fuel Tayam's mill and return trigger. Meanwhile, Lightning Greaves can sit safely on the table ready to be zero-cost equipped to protect your loop's core piece the moment it returns.
