How it works

1. Activate Wildwood Mentor using Marath's ability by paying 1 and removing a +1/+1 counter from it, creating a 1/1 Elemental creature token.
2. When the Elemental enters the battlefield, Wildwood Mentor's first ability triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on itself.
3. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing the Elemental, adding 1.
4. Repeat.

This clever loop transforms Marath, Will of the Wild into an infinite token generator and mana engine by leveraging Agatha's Soul Cauldron to share activated abilities across your battlefield. With Agatha's Soul Cauldron having previously exiled a creature card granting the necessary activated ability, Marath can spend mana and remove its own +1/+1 counters to fuel the process. Meanwhile, Wildwood Mentor watches tokens enter to automatically replenish counters, and Phyrexian Altar provides the sacrifice outlet needed to generate the mana to repeat the cycle endlessly.
