How it works

  1. Cast Cubwarden for its mutate cost by paying W manaW mana, targeting a non-Human creature you control.
  2. The Cubwarden mutated creature triggers, creating two 1/1 Cat creature tokens.
  3. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing the Cubwarden mutated creature, adding W mana.
  4. When the Cubwarden mutated creature dies, Enduring Renewal triggers, returning Cubwarden and any cards merged with it from your graveyard to your hand.
  5. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing a Cat token, adding W mana.
  6. Repeat.

This clever loop centers around Cubwarden mutating onto an existing creature, turning it into a single entity that generates two 1/1 Cat tokens whenever it mutates or enters the battlefield. By sacrificing the mutated stack to Phyrexian Altar, Enduring Renewal swoops in with its static graveyard trigger to return all the merged cards straight back to your hand, bypassing any normal card-drawing restrictions. Since you have a loop that refunds its own mana and resources, Hamza, Guardian of Arashin can sit comfortably on the board reducing costs through his passive ability if you branch out, though here the engine is fully self-sustaining. The result is an infinite stream of sacrifices, triggers, and storm count fueled entirely by the altar's mana conversion.
