How it works

  1. Cast Astral Dragon by paying 6U manaU mana.
  2. When Astral Dragon enters the battlefield, it triggers, creating six token copies of Mechtitan Core that are 3/3 Dragons in addition to their other types.
  3. Activate Ashnod's Altar twice by sacrificing two of the Mechtitan Core tokens, adding CCCC.
  4. Activate a Mechtitan Core by paying 5 and exiling it, three other Mechtitan Core tokens, and Astral Dragon, creating three 10/10 Mechtitan legendary creature tokens.
  5. Put all but one of the Mechtitan tokens in your graveyard due to the legend rule.
  6. Mechtitan Core triggers twice, returning all cards exiled to create the Mechtitan tokens from exile to the battlefield.
  7. When Astral Dragon enters the battlefield, it triggers.
  8. Holding priority, activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Mechtitan, adding CC.
  9. Resolve the Astral Dragon trigger, creating six token copies of Mechtitan Core that are 3/3 Dragons in addition to their other types.
  10. Repeat from step 3.
  11. Once you have infinite C, you may forego sacrificing Mechtitan Core tokens to Ashnod's Altar, and then target any other applicable permanents using Astral Dragon.

This ingenious loop turns a single dragon into an engine of absolute proliferation, supercharged by Mycosynth Lattice turning every permanent on the battlefield into an artifact. When Astral Dragon enters the battlefield, it targets the Mycosynth-modified Mechtitan Core, but Ojer Taq, Deepest Foundation steps in to multiply those tokens into six 3/3 Dragon copies. You can then sacrifice a few of these newly minted Mechtitan Cores to Ashnod's Altar for mana, while using the remaining copies to exile the original Astral Dragon and themselves to build massive 10/10 Mechtitan tokens. Because the legend rule instantly strips away the excess Mechtitans, their delayed triggers fire to return everything right back to the battlefield—allowing Astral Dragon to enter anew and repeat the entire sequence while generating infinite colorless mana.
