How it works

1. During an opponent's turn, activate Heart of Kiran by tapping Wylie Duke.
2. Wylie Duke triggers, causing you to draw a card and gain 1 life.
3. The Watcher's first ability triggers, creating a 1/1 Tentacle creature token.
4. Resolve the Heart of Kiran ability, causing it to become a creature until end of turn.
5. Activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing the Tentacle.
6. When the Tentacle dies, The Watcher's second ability triggers, untapping Wylie Duke and putting a stun counter on up to one permanent.
7. Resolve the Altar of Dementia ability
8. Repeat.

This intricate loop spins up by using Xenograft to designate all of your creatures as Krakens, allowing The Watcher in the Water to recognize your tokens as the very beasts it needs to empower. Tapping Wylie Duke to crew Heart of Kiran triggers Wylie to draw you a card during your opponent's turn, which in turn causes The Watcher to spawn a 1/1 Tentacle creature token. You then sacrifice that newly created Tentacle to Altar of Dementia, sending cards to the graveyard while triggering The Watcher's final ability to untap Wylie Duke—readying him to crew Heart of Kiran all over again and keep the cycle endlessly flowing.
