How it works

1. Activate Argothian Elder by tapping it, untapping Griffin Canyon and another land.
2. Activate Griffin Canyon's second ability by tapping it, untapping Argothian Elder and giving it +1/+1 until end of turn.
3. Repeat.

This ingenious engine turns an ordinary land into a master key by enlisting Xenograft to rewrite the very nature of your creatures, designating "Griffin" as the chosen type so that Argothian Elder counts as one. Once the battlefield is thus prepared, Argothian Elder taps to untap Griffin Canyon alongside another land for extra profit, and Griffin Canyon immediately returns the favor by tapping to untap the Elder. Because Griffin Canyon's untap ability doesn't require the target Griffin to have been tapped to use it, this closed loop of mutual untapping spins infinitely, generating boundless mana from your lands and pumping the Elder to astronomical proportions.
