How it works

1. Activate Fain's first ability by tapping it and sacrificing a creature.
2. When the creature dies, Xathrid Necromancer and Fain trigger.
3. Resolve the Xathrid Necromancer trigger, creating a 2/2 Zombie creature token.
4. Resolve the Fain trigger, untapping it.
5. Resolve the Fain ability from step 1, putting two +1/+1 counters on a creature you control.
6. Repeat.

This looping engine transforms Fain, the Broker into a relentless recycling plant by leveraging a clever web of type manipulation and triggered abilities. Xenograft does the heavy lifting in the background, turning every creature you control into a Human so that Xathrid Necromancer can constantly trigger and replace your sacrifices with fresh Zombie tokens. Meanwhile, Thornbite Staff equips to Fain (who counts as a Shaman thanks to Xenograft) and provides the crucial untap trigger whenever those creatures perish, allowing Fain to repeatedly tap, sacrifice, and fuel an endless cascade of +1/+1 counters and death triggers.
