How it works
Activate Fain's first ability by tapping it and sacrificing a creature.
When the creature dies, Bishop of Wings' second ability and Fain trigger.
Resolve the Bishop of Wings trigger, creating a 1/1 Spirit creature token.
When the Spirit enters the battlefield, Bishop of Wings' first ability triggers, causing you to gain 4 life.
Resolve the Fain trigger, untapping it.
Resolve the Fain ability from step 1, putting two +1/+1 counters on a creature you control.
Repeat.
This clever loop turns Fain, the Broker into a relentless engine by weaving in Xenograft to treat every creature you control as an Angel. With Xenograft rewriting creature types, every time Fain sacrifices a creature to fuel its own ability, Bishop of Wings steps in to spawn a Spirit token upon that creature's death. That very token entry immediately triggers Bishop of Wings again to net you life, while Fain's own sacrifice provides the counters you need. Meanwhile, Thornbite Staff is waiting in the wings—though the step-by-step trace relies on Fain's built-in untap cost, equipping the Staff to a Shaman like Fain (thanks again to Xenograft's type-changing magic) turns every creature death into an automatic untap for the staff-wielding broker.
