How it works

1. Cast Wick either from your hand or from the command zone by paying 3 plus commander tax, if applicable.
2. When Wick enters the battlefield, it triggers.
3. Holding priority, if you control a Snail, activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing the Snail, adding one mana of any color.
4. If needed, repeat step 3 until you do not control a Snail.
5. Resolve the Wick trigger, creating a 1/1 Snail creature token.
6. When the Snail enters the battlefield as a Rat due to Xenograft, Wick triggers.
7. Repeat from step 3.

This ingenious loop transforms your snails into a relentless engine of destruction by leveraging Xenograft to turn every single creature you control into a Rat, which in turn satisfies Wick, the Whorled Mind’s constant craving for rodent companions. Whenever Wick enters the battlefield or another Rat arrives, it normally would create a Snail or grow one—but thanks to Xenograft, that newly spawned Snail is immediately recognized as a Rat, triggering Wick all over again to generate another Snail token in an endless loop. Phyrexian Altar acts as the ultimate catalyst here, allowing you to sacrifice those overlapping Snail-Rats for colored mana to keep the cycle going while filling your graveyard and generating infinite sacrifice triggers. Once you have looped this enough times to amass an unstoppable army or a mountain of mana, you can finally sacrifice a giant Snail directly to Wick's activated ability to blast your opponents for massive damage and draw your entire deck.
