How it works

  1. Cast Transcendence by paying 3W manaW manaW mana.
  2. Transcendence triggers due to you having 20 or more life. However, you cannot lose the game due to Gideon of the Trials.
  3. Step 2 repeats in an infinite loop, causing the game to end in a draw if it isn't interacted with.

This bizarre interaction forces a draw by locking the game into an unresolvable state, and it all hinges on the absolute protection provided by Gideon of the Trials and his emblem. Once that emblem is in play, you simply cannot lose the game, which directly counteracts the life-total safety net and the immediate-loss clause of Transcendence. As soon as Transcendence hits the battlefield and sees your starting life total of 20 or more, its second ability triggers, demanding that you lose the game—a demand that Gideon's static emblem immediately refuses. This creates an unyielding infinite loop of the game trying to make you lose and the emblem overriding it, forcing a draw unless an opponent can successfully interact and break the cycle.
