How it works

1. Activate Boros Garrison by tapping it, adding .
2. Activate Deserted Temple's second ability by paying 1 and tapping it, targeting itself.
3. Locus of Enlightenment triggers, copying Deserted Temple's ability, targeting Boros Garrison.
4. Resolve both Deserted Temple abilities, untapping it and Boros Garrison.
5. Repeat.

This clever loop transforms The Enigma Jewel into Locus of Enlightenment, granting it the activated abilities of every exiled card used in its craft. By combining Deserted Temple with Boros Garrison, you can tap the Garrison for red and white mana while using the Temple's untap ability. Because Locus of Enlightenment copies any non-mana activated ability you trigger, activating Deserted Temple on itself automatically duplicates the effect to untap Boros Garrison as well. This creates an infinite cycle of untapping and tapping that generates boundless red and white mana, fueled entirely by the permanent you worked so hard to assemble.
