How it works

3. Repeat.

This clever interaction relies on Enduring Angel's replacement effect, which steps in to save you from defeat by transforming and resetting your life total to 3 whenever you would hit 0 or less. By having Mirrorhall Mimic enter the battlefield as a copy of Enduring Angel, its backside—Ghastly Mimicry—inherits those exact copiable values, including that vital life-saving text. Because the copy also possesses that replacement effect, each time a lethal blow would drop you, your overlapping Enduring Angel effects trigger to repeatedly reset your life total to 3, creating an absolute lock that prevents you from losing the game.
