How it works
Cast Mirrorhall Mimic by paying its mana cost. Choose to have it enter the battlefield as a copy of Rakdos Joins Up.
Put Mirrorhall Mimic into your graveyard due to the legend rule.
Mirrorhall Mimic's first ability and second ability trigger, along with Rakdos Joins Up's second ability.
Resolve Mirrorhall Mimic's second trigger and Rakdos Joins Up's trigger, dealing damage to target opponent.
Resolve Mirrorhall Mimic's first trigger, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with two +1/+1 counters on it as a copy of Rakdos Joins Up.
Repeat from step 2.
This ingenious loop exploits the interaction between the legend rule and clone mechanics to endlessly recur our enchantments. By playing Mirrorhall Mimic (cast as a copy of Rakdos Joins Up), state-based actions immediately force one to be put into the graveyard, but its own death trigger—combined with the original Rakdos Joins Up—allows it to return straight to the battlefield. Meanwhile, Opalescence transforms these enchantments into creatures, letting them trigger Rakdos Joins Up's damage ability each time they perish. The back face of the card, Ghastly Mimicry, ensures the Mirrorhall Mimic stays safe from permanent exile while feeding an infinite loop of damage and triggers.
