How it works

1. Activate Patron of the Moon by paying 1, putting Dimir Aqueduct from your hand onto the battlefield tapped.
2. When Dimir Aqueduct enters the battlefield, it and Lotus Cobra trigger.
3. Resolve the Dimir Aqueduct trigger, returning it from the battlefield to your hand.
4. Resolve the Lotus Cobra trigger, adding 1.
5. Repeat.

This clever mana engine turns Patron of the Moon into a self-contained loop by utilizing Lotus Cobra's landfall trigger to generate the exact mana needed to fund Patron's activation ability. The cycle is anchored by Dimir Aqueduct, which conveniently bounces itself straight back to your hand upon entering the battlefield—simultaneously satisfying its own drawback and supplying a fresh land to drop all over again.
