How it works
- Tap Barrage Ogre, sacrificing Accorder's Shield to deal 2 damage to any target.
- Tap Emry, targeting Accorder's Shield.
- Cast Accorder's Shield.
- Jeskai Ascendancy triggers, allowing you to loot.
- Jeskai Ascendancy triggers, untapping all creatures you control and giving them +1/+1 until end of turn.
- Repeat.
This loop relies on an ingenious recursive feedback loop centered around Emry, Lurker of the Loch, who taps to let you cast Accorder's Shield right back out of your graveyard. Every time that noncreature equipment is cast, Jeskai Ascendancy triggers to loot and—crucially—untap all of your creatures, including Emry, Lurker of the Loch and Barrage Ogre. That fresh untap lets Barrage Ogre immediately sacrifice Accorder's Shield to hurl 2 damage at any target, paving the way for Emry, Lurker of the Loch to replay the shield all over again.
