How it works
- Cast Lethal Vapors by paying 2.
- Activate Lethal Vapors an arbitrarily large number of times.
- Cast Teferi's Protection by paying 2: until your next turn your life total can't change and you have protection from everything.
- Allow all the activated abilities from Lethal Vapors to resolve, skipping an arbitrarily large number of turns.
This delightfully devious lock relies on exploiting the unique interaction of phasing to safely isolate yourself from the game. By casting Grand Abolisher first, you ensure that your opponents cannot interfere with your setup during your turn. Once your safety net is established, you cast Teferi's Protection, phasing out all of your permanents—including Lethal Vapors itself—and granting you absolute protection while rendering your life total unchangeable. Because your permanents cease to exist while phased out, they become entirely immune to the rest of the game's progress, leaving you free to activate Lethal Vapors' ability an infinite number of times without any danger. As the stack resolves, you cheerfully skip all of your future turns, sitting safely outside time while your opponents are forced to draw themselves to death from an empty library.
