How it works

1. Give Ill-Tempered Loner indestructible, and then deal damage to Ill-Tempered Loner.
2. Ill-Tempered Loner and Soul Link's second ability trigger.
3. Resolve the Soul Link trigger, causing you to gain that much life.
4. Resolve the Ill-Tempered Loner trigger, dealing that much damage to itself.
5. Ill-Tempered Loner and Soul Link's first and second abilities trigger.
6. Resolve both Soul Link triggers, causing you to gain life equal to twice the damage dealt.
7. Repeat from step 4.
