How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Promised Kannushi, adding 2.
2. When Promised Kannushi dies, its soulshift ability triggers, returning itself from your graveyard to your hand.
3. Cast Promised Kannushi by paying 1.
4. Repeat.

This clever loop revolves around turning your graveyard recursion into a self-sustaining engine, powered entirely by Arcane Adaptation making Promised Kannushi a Spirit everywhere, including in your hand and graveyard. With that type-changing enchantment in play, sacrificing Promised Kannushi to Ashnod's Altar generates colorless mana while triggering its own Soulshift 7 ability to immediately return itself from the graveyard back to your hand. You can then endlessly replay the Kannushi for just one mana—leaving you a net profit of colorless mana each iteration—while Chromatic Orrery steps in to filter and convert that endless supply into any color you need.
