How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Eternal Scourge, adding CC.
2. When Eternal Scourge dies as a Vampire due to Arcane Adaptation, Timothar triggers, causing you to pay 1 and exile Eternal Scourge to create a 1/1 Bat creature token.
3. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing the Bat, adding CC.
4. Cast Eternal Scourge from exile by paying 3.
5. Repeat.

This clever loop turns Eternal Scourge into a self-recycling engine by leveraging Arcane Adaptation to blanket your entire board in Vampireity. With that type-changing enchantment in play, Timothar, Baron of Bats treats the Scourge as a dying Vampire whenever it hits the graveyard, letting you feed it to Ashnod's Altar for mana and then exile it to Timothar's replacement effect. Because Eternal Scourge boasts the unique ability to be cast straight out of exile, you can use the two colorless mana generated by the Altar plus one additional mana to replay the Scourge and repeat the entire cycle, generating an infinite storm count alongside limitless death, sacrifice, and entry triggers.
