How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Promised Kannushi, adding CC.
2. When Promised Kannushi dies, its soulshift ability triggers, returning itself from your graveyard to your hand.
3. Activate Prismite by paying 2, adding .
4. Cast Promised Kannushi by paying .
5. Repeat.

This delightful little loop turns Ashnod's Altar into a self-contained engine by exploiting the recursive nature of Promised Kannushi's Soulshift 7 ability. Because Arcane Adaptation redefines all your creature cards as Spirits in every zone, Promised Kannushi can always target itself in the graveyard when it dies, cleanly returning to your hand for casting. To bridge the color gap, Prismite converts the colorless mana generated by the Altar into the green mana required to replay the Kannushi, completing a closed circuit that generates infinite sacrifice triggers, enters-the-battlefield effects, and storm count for any format where these cards are legal.
