How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Promised Kannushi, adding CC.
2. When Promised Kannushi dies, its soulshift ability triggers, returning itself from your graveyard to your hand.
3. Activate Energy Refractor by paying 2, adding .
4. Cast Promised Kannushi by paying .
5. Repeat.

This clever loop hinges entirely on Arcane Adaptation, which secretly turns Promised Kannushi into a Spirit everywhere—even in the graveyard—allowing its Soulshift 7 trigger to successfully target itself upon death. Once that creature type is locked in, you sacrifice Promised Kannushi to Ashnod's Altar for two generic mana, which you then filter through Energy Refractor to pay the green mana required to recast it. Because the Soulshift trigger continuously pulls Promised Kannushi right back to your hand, you can repeat this cycle endlessly to generate infinite sacrifices, storm count, and entry triggers.
