How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Promised Kannushi, adding CC.
2. When Promised Kannushi dies, its soulshift ability triggers, returning itself from your graveyard to your hand.
3. Activate Stonework Packbeast by paying 2, adding .
4. Cast Promised Kannushi by paying .
5. Repeat.

This loop transforms a humble Spirit into an infinite engine by leveraging a clever type-shifting trick: with Arcane Adaptation naming "Spirit" and Stonework Packbeast already serving as a multityped anchor, Promised Kannushi's own recursion becomes self-sustaining. Ashnod's Altar provides the raw colorless mana needed to filter through Stonework Packbeast's ability while simultaneously sacrificing the Kannushi to trigger its own Soulshift 7. Because the Kannushi is a Spirit, it simply plucks itself right back from the graveyard into your hand, letting you recast it endlessly for infinite sacrifice, enter-the-battlefield, and storm triggers.
