How it works

1. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing Promised Kannushi, adding .
2. When Promised Kannushi dies, its soulshift ability triggers, returning itself from your graveyard to your hand.
3. Cast Promised Kannushi by paying .
4. Repeat.

By applying Arcane Adaptation and choosing "Spirit," every creature you own—including Promised Kannushi itself—becomes a Spirit in addition to its other types. This subtle twist turns Promised Kannushi's Soulshift 7 ability into a recursive loop, allowing it to target itself in your graveyard whenever it hits the dirt. Phyrexian Altar acts as the engine, turning each sacrifice into the green mana required to recast Promised Kannushi right back onto the battlefield.
